Draft Day follows Sonny Weaver Jr., the beleaguered general manager of the Cleveland Browns, through one high-pressure, career-defining NFL draft day. After making a bold trade to acquire the No. 1 pick, Sonny is forced to choose between a flashy quarterback who could sell tickets and restore the team's profile and a troubled but talented linebacker who represents a different kind of future. Viewers experience the frantic, clock‑ticking world of front-office decision-making: tense negotiations, late-night phone calls, scouting sleuthing, media scrutiny and clashes with the owner and coach — all while Sonny’s personal history and family wounds complicate every move. The film mixes sports-business intrigue with human drama, exploring themes of ambition, loyalty and what one man is willing to sacrifice for success and for the dreams of the young athletes whose lives hang in the balance.
