Everybody Wants Some!! (2016)

Everybody Wants Some!! (2016) — Comedy Set in the fall of 1980 on a Texas college campus, this loose, affectionate coming-of-age comedy follows freshman pitcher Jake Bradford as he moves into an off‑campus house with the rest of the baseball squad. Over a few carefree days, Jake meets a colorful ensemble of teammates — the fast-talking Roper, the laconic Finnegan, the charming goofball Plummer, and his Southern‑drawled roommate Billy — and joins their ritualized nights of cruising the town, hustling parties, flirting, and testing the limits of newfound independence. The film is less a plot-driven drama than a slice-of-life portrait: scenes of dorm-room banter, barroom bravado, road trips, and locker-room camaraderie build an atmosphere of youthful freedom. Viewers can expect warm nostalgia, improvisational, character-driven comedy, and a killer period soundtrack that anchors the film in 1980. It’s playful, occasionally raunchy, and grounded in small moments of friendship, rivalry, and rites of passage. Watching Everybody Wants Some!! feels like slipping into a summer evening from another era — equal parts funny and tender — where the pleasures come from the chemistry among the players, the rhythm of the dialogue, and the film’s keen eye for the small rituals that mark the transition to adulthood.
