Knives Out (2019)

Knives Out

Knives Out is a modern, witty whodunit that blends comedy, crime and drama into a stylish, twisty mystery. When famed crime novelist Harlan Thrombey is found dead after his 85th birthday party, the charming and inscrutable detective Benoit Blanc is quietly hired to untangle the truth. As Blanc interviews Harlan’s combative, eccentric family and devoted household staff, the viewer is plunged into a maze of red herrings, petty rivalries and self-serving lies—every scene crackles with sharp dialogue, dark humor and shifting motives. Watching the film, you’ll be entertained by the ensemble’s colorful characters, kept guessing by clever misdirections, and rewarded with a satisfying, tightly plotted reveal that also skewers family dynamics, legacy and greed. It’s equal parts puzzle and satire: playful, suspenseful, and thoroughly engaging from first clue to final twist.
