Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)

Star Wars: Episode VIII — The Last Jedi continues the saga with a mix of grand space action and quieter, character-driven moments. Rey seeks out the reclusive Luke Skywalker to be trained in the ways of the Force, while the battered Resistance, led by General Leia Organa, is pursued and hunted by the First Order. Finn, Poe and newcomer Rose Tico undertake a risky mission to disable the enemy’s tracking capability as the Resistance struggles to survive. Meanwhile Kylo Ren wrestles with his allegiance and his brutal rise within the First Order. Seeing the film you’ll experience spectacular set-piece battles (chase sequences, starfighter combat and bold confrontations), intercut with intimate scenes of training, doubt and moral conflict. The tone is darker and more introspective than some earlier entries: it questions heroism and legacy, leans into emotional risk, and delivers unexpected twists that upend familiar expectations. There’s also moments of levity and character chemistry that balance the intensity, plus striking visuals and a sweeping score that emphasize the scale and stakes. Overall, The Last Jedi is a bold, sometimes controversial chapter that rewards viewers who want action and spectacle as well as deeper thematic exploration of identity, failure, and what it means to be a hero.
