Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok is a fast-paced, visually bold action-adventure comedy in which Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is stranded on the chaotic planet Sakaar and must race back to Asgard to stop the apocalyptic prophesy of Ragnarök. Along the way he’s stripped of his hammer, thrown into a gladiatorial arena where he unexpectedly faces his old ally the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and forced to form an uneasy team with Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and his trickster brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston). All the while a new, all-powerful villain — Hela (Cate Blanchett), the Goddess of Death — threatens to destroy Asgard and its people. Watching the film you’ll get high-energy spectacle and large-scale action sequences mixed with irreverent, funny moments and strong character chemistry. Expect colorful, inventive production design and brisk pacing, big set-piece fights (including gladiator mayhem), emotional beats about loss and leadership, and standout performances that balance humor and danger. It’s a crowd-pleasing, adventurous entry in the MCU that blends comedy with epic stakes.
